Gordon Tan is a highly regarded banker turned entrepreneur. In a career spanning over a decade, he was involved as a senior banker in corporate banking, investment banking, private banking and project finance with major international institutions, regionally based in Singapore. He ventured out in the mid 1990s, establishing several successful businesses in financial publishing, energy saving technologies and electronics manufacturing. In 2000, his electronics company was successfully listed on the main boards of the Singapore and Australia Stock Exchanges. During that period, Gordon also setup his own venture fund in Hemlock Capital, which teamed up with several banks owned PE funds to invest in growth enterprises in Asia. He exited his key businesses in 2007 to invest in real estate in China and continued in a consulting capacity as an independent adviser to several international infrastructure projects and independent director to a few listed companies in Singapore.
He has authored books in finance and investment, including the Cassia Business Intelligence series on Business Opportunities in then fast growing economies of Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and China. He also published a financial newsletter and economic research reports on the newly designated special economic zones of Shenzhen and Shanghai, China.
Owing to a strong personal belief that it is increasingly important to include gold bullion as a key core asset in the balancing of wealth portfolio of a high net worth individual, family offices, corporate or an institutional fund, Gordon proceeded to establish Gold Peak Group with his two founding partners with the vision to create a unique and complete supply chain from primary production to the delivery of gold dore and bullion bars, and bullion services to end-user customers and global precious metals traders.
Gordon adds the necessary dimension of skillsets, knowledge and expertise in the financial markets and a solid network of relationships to access the same for the Group’s continuing business growth to the in-depth technical know-how and proven industrial experience of his two partners.
